Maldives is a group of atolls in the Indian Ocean, south-southwest of India. Its area is very small, about 1.7 times the size of Washington DC. The total area is 300 sq km.
Maldives has a climate of tropical monsoons. Northeast monsoon with hot, humid and dry season (November to march) and rainy monsoon which is southwest monsoon (June to August).
Maldives’s terrain is flat with white sandy beaches; with highest point of elevation is 2.4 m.
