Afghanistan is located in south Asia, north and west of Pakistan and east of Iran. It has an area slightly smaller than Texas. The total area is 647,500 sq km, which is the same area as the land. With land boundaries of 5,529 km, their border countries are china 76 km, Iran 936 km, Pakistan 2,430 km, Tajikistan 1,206 km, Turkmenistan 744 km and Uzbekistan 137 km.
Afghanistan has a climate with cold winters and hot summers.
Afghanistan’s terrain is mostly rugged mountains, however with plains in north and southwest. The lowest point of its elevation is Amu Darya with 258 m and the highest point is Newshak with 7,485 m.
Natural resources from Afghanistan include natural gas, petroleum, coal, copper, chromites, tale, barites, sulfur, lead, zinc, iron ore and precious and semiprecious stones.
